Day 1 SOFIA
Arrival to Sofia, transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
Day 2 SOFIA
Breakfast and city tour of Sofia, capital of Bulgaria including Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Hagia Sophia, St George Rotunda Church with medieval paintings and the Sérgio's Ruins. Free time for your leisure.
Optional: In the evening, dine in a typical restaurant with folklore.
Day 3 SOFIA - RILA MONASTERY - SOFIA
Breakfast and departure to Rila. Visit of the Monastery of Rila (Unesco Heritage) which is the largest and most famous Eastern Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria. It is situated in the southwestern Rila Mountains. This architectural gem was founded in the 10th century and is regarded as one of Bulgaria's most important cultural, historical and architectural monuments and is a key tourist attraction for Bulgaria. At the end of the visit return to Sofia. Free time for your leisure.
Day 4 SOFIA - BOYANA - PLOVDIV
Breakfast and departure to Boyana, visit to the National History Museum and Boyana Church (Unesco Heritage). Lunch at local restaurant. On the afternoon we will continue to Plovdiv. City tour of Plodiv, including the most important sightseeing attraction of the city the Roman Theater and downtown. Free time for your leisure . Accommodation in Plodiv.
Day 5 PLOVDIV - KAZANLUK - VELIKO TARNOVO
Breakfast and departure to Kazanluk. Visit of the replica of the Treatise Tomb (Unesco Heritage) and continuation to Veliko Tarnovo. On the route we will also visit the Etur (open air ethnographic museum). Arrival to Veliko Tarnovo and panoramic city tour.
The old capital - Veliko Tarnovo - is one of the most beautiful cities in Bulgaria. The houses, stacked one above the other, situated on the steep hills of the city, make the place look very different from the other cities of the country. We will visit the medieval fortress called Tsarevets, which has remained since the time of the Second Bulgarian Empire and offers its visitors some interesting ruins and a great view of the whole city. Free time for your leisure. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.
Day 6 VELIKO TARNOVO - BUCHAREST
Breakfast and departure to Bucharest. We will continue to Romania border, visiting as well Giurgiu. Arrival and panoramic city tour of Bucharest with highlight to Revolution Square. Originally called Palace Square, during the communist era was renamed Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej Square. During the Romanian Revolution of 1989 it was the stage of confrontations and demonstrations against the regime of the dictator Nicolae Ceauşescu, which contributed to that the name was changed to the present one.
You will visit the Patriarchal Church, seat of the Romanian Orthodox Head, the Palace of the Parliament, the second largest building in the world.
Overnight in Bucharest.
Day 7 BUCHAREST
Today will be completely free for your leisure.
Day 8 BUCHAREST - SINAIA - BRASOV
Breakfast and departure to the Sinaia region, whose name derives from the Sinaia Monastery. We will visit the Castle of Peles, constructed of stones and wood with rustic appearance. It was the former residence of the royal family of Romania, built in the 17th century by the first king (Carol I). Later we will continue to Brasov. Brasov was founded in 1211, by Knights of the Teutonic Order, a group as important as the Crusaders,
and was for centuries an economic and intellectual center of the Transylvanian Saxons, who constituted until the 19th century a majority of the population.. The Hungarian king, the same one who ordered the construction of the city, later expelled the knights from the city and populated the city with Saxons. Free time to discover the medieval center.
Day 9 BRASOV - CASTELO BRAN - BRASOV
Breakfast and departure to Bran, to visit the famous castle of Prince Vlad Tepes. The Castle is know as the Caste of Dracula, thanks to to novel of Bram Stroker. We will visit the interiors of the castle and return to Brasov. City tour of Brasov with a highlight to the Black Cathedral, called the Black Cathedral due to a fire that occurred centuries ago, which left its walls darkened, Central Square, Black Tower, and White Tower, the medieval fortification wall with late medieval town houses, the Town Hall Square, the unique Schnurrgasse, Katherine Gate and the small hidden ortodox church from the Center. Free time for your leisure, overnight in Brasov.
Day 11 SIBIU - TIMISOARA
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Timisoara. Arrival, accommodation and free time for your leisure.
Day 12 TIMISOARA
Breakfast and city tour of Timisoara. Todayś highlight will be the religious architecture, like the Orthodox Cathedral, the Catholic Caterdal of St. George, the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, and various synagogues such as Iosefin, Fabric, Cetate. There will be the walking tour around 3 squares in the center: Victoria, Liberty and Union squares. Free afternoon for your leisure and shopping. Overnight in Timisoara.
Day 13 TIMISOARA - BELGRADE
Breakfast and departure to Belgrade. Arrival and city tour of the capital and largest city of Serbia, where a large part of the population is Muslim.
Belgrad is the city where was assassinated the successor to the Austrian throne Ferdinand de Este and therefore the place where The First World War began. Accommodation and free time for your leisure.
